Logen's first day of high school was yesterday and he had a great day! I think the differences between middle school and high school were obvious from the first step on the campus. A difference that I was surprised about was that all the grades (freshman - senior) ate lunch at the same time. In middle school they keep the classes separated. In middle school the grades are even on different bell schedules, so it keeps the younger 6th graders a little more segregated from the "older" 8th graders. In high school it is just one big mix of classes and ages.
Logen's school is on a block schedule, which equals an "A" day and a "B" day. This means they have only 4 periods (classes) a day for 90-minutes, rotating every two-days. Yesterday he had four classes to go to and today he has four new classes. So it must seem like the first day of school again today meeting four new teachers. His first impression of his teachers yesterday was good, except for one, but I am sure that class will get better, after all it was just the first day! :o)
Logen did not want me to take any pictures of him before he went to school yesterday. He wasn't too thrilled that I asked him after school either. He is just getting too old for that stuff I guess.
So to remember years past here is a picture of him on the first day of school for 3rd grade:
With tears in my eyes, all I can say is WOW, where has the time gone?
