Chloe is going to be 12 years old on the 4th of July. We are not sure when her real birth date is so we gave her the date that we got her on when she was 2 years old. We got Chloe from our local dog pound. We decided to go LOOK at the dogs during our long 4th of July weekend ten years ago. Well we have never been back to the pound because you don't go to the pound to just look--it is too sad--we want to bring them all home. We went to the pound all those years ago with the intention of looking for a Lab. It was the type of dog Dennis would have liked to have. Well we let the kids look (remember they were 4 and 14 at the time). They found this dog (Chloe) and asked if they could take it to the special rooms they have to play with the dog that you like, one on one--they should call these the "fall in love" rooms..because once you take a dog out of their cage, walk it, play with it...you are never putting the dog back in the cage, you have fallen in love with it and you are taking it home. Well the rest is history we have had Chloe for 10 years now. She is very mild mannered, does not do any tricks and loves to lay in the sunlight--just like a cat! I felt bad at first watching Dennis walk this "foo-foo" dog when he really wanted a "manly" Lab. After all these years, he loves Chloe just the same though.
