Family Updates: Logen

Wow--I can't believe that I haven't posted on the blog since the 26th of February--I guess it is easy to say that things have been hectic around here.

On the 28th Logen participated in the Kid's Fair at the Expo building in Boise. He has been involved with the yo-yo group for a few months now and really has been enjoying it. The instructor in the class, Dave, is a two-time world champion yo-yo'er! He is great with the kids. He asked Logen to run the audio and be the announcer for the yo-yo group during their stage performances during the Kid's Fair.......which Logen loved! He also enjoyed himself while at the yo-yo booth selling yo-yos and instructing people on how to do tricks. Of course Tyler was proud because Logen was working his first "audio gig"! Dave has hinted around that he may ask Logen to join the performance group as a team competitor for competitions.....Logen was thrilled!

Logen's grades are awesome at school! He is looking forward to spring break in a couple weeks then we will be on the downhill side of the 8th grade. Right now he is in the middle of a HUGE project that is a requirement for 8th grade. It is called the PACE project. The kids have to do an oral presentation with "power points" (a fancy word for a slide show) to a panel of judges. The kids have to choose a subject based on their area of interest for a career. Logen's presentation is on sports broadcasting/analysis.

Another great thing happened to Logen this week; he was approached by his 8th grade basketball coach, who is now in full swing coaching the 7th grade boys basketball team, and asked Logen if he would be interested in being the manager for him. What a great honor--he apparently thinks a lot of Logen and knows that Logen would do a great job for him. Logen says the manager is in charge of keeping stats during the games, attends all practices and games and helps where ever needed and also works the scoreboard for home games.

We are so proud of Logen--he is a great kid and has such a kind heart!

  2. Do you want to be grounded??? :) I figured there is more than one slide---doesn't that make it "pointS"? Oh well--I learned something new today!! Thanks--now I will say it correctly and don't have to worry about your brother correcting me also! LOL :) Love ya Tyler!
