Family Reunion -- Part 1

I can't believe that I have been home since last Wednesday and I still have not found the time to write about the fantastic time we had at the annual family reunion. I have been spending my computer time catching up reading all the blogs that I read on a daily basis, that I missed out on while I was gone....yes I read a lot of blogs. Some are funny, some are spiritual and my absolute favorites are the crafty blogs. There are so many ideas on making things or making treasures out of garage sale finds. Unfortunately it has made my "to do" list longer!

Back to the family reunion; We were going to leave on Wednesday night but, crazy as it sounds, we had some rainy, cold weather move into the area. Amazingly, it had been hot, so hot, for weeks. Then we have this "vacation" planned and the weather turns on us. It was still less than nice on Thursday morning so we did not hurry too much to get out of town. We left in the afternoon and got too our destination about 4pm. This is THE spot: Nat Soo Pah Campground. We have had our reunion here for at least the last 5 years. We all love it. It has a snack bar, game room, showers and most importantly a natural hot springs pool....more on that later.

Three other families joined us one day early at the camping spot and yes, it was still rainy and cold when we got there. The campfires took the chill out of the air in the evening.

I did spend some extra time in the camp trailer reading. As you can see in the picture I am not too happy to have my picture taken...pretty typical! My mom tells me that I loved to have my picture taken when I was a kid. And everyone knows that my Dad loves having his picture taken, my mom does too...I just do not enjoy it.

Friday morning greeted us with the same cloudy skies.....but a big happy face on Logen! The weather was not going to spoil the fun for the kids. Colin was more than happy to play outside with the cousins. This is Colin and Kendal, she is Dennis' cousin's daughter, from Reno, Nevada. Kendal was such a little mom with Colin.

On Friday evening, it was time to celebrate Dennis' cousin's, Terry, 40th birthday, with a Hawaiian themed surprise party. He was surprised! His birthday is not until next week but it was a great plan because most of the family was together. Here is a picture with some of the family wearing the leis.

Logen is right out front, and NO I am not in the picture (refer to previous picture of me for explanation) :o) Even the dog got into the "Hawaiian" spirit.

Do you think Colin wants another piece of the yummy birthday cake??

More to come......
