The weekends come and go so quickly that I am not sure if I have taken time to enjoy them lately!
Last weekend it was nice enough to mow the lawn on Saturday and for Dennis and Logen to go dirt bike riding on Sunday. The wind has been blowing quite a bit, so I decided not to join the boys out at the desert. I knew the wind would
really be blowing out there! Apparently the weather did not keep many people away as this picture shows:

Dennis said there were a lot of campers out there too. Dennis and Logen rode around this big expanse of desert land for a couple hours. I am sure glad they were able to get out and have some fun together. I am so anxious to camp this year BUT I do not want to be cold either. Me and cold weather do not seem to mix too well. I have to admit that camping these last two years with our travel trailer is so enjoyable....a lot has to be said about having a full bathroom and sleeping in an actual bed when you are out in the middle of no where.
As I look back at my postings, I see that I do complain about the weather A LOT! I was thinking that wasn't a good thing, but then I decided if that is the only thing I am complaining about, its not too bad! :)

The forsythia in the back yard is in full bloom (and so are the weeds!).
Colin spent some time outside in the back yard this weekend too. He just loves being outside. I took him with me in the camp trailer this weekend to get things cleaned up, start preparing and stocking it for our first camping trip in four weeks. He loved being in the trailer. I am suspecting he will be a blast to take camping with us this year.
Here he is pointing at the trailer wanting to go back in to play.

But it was too nice to be inside a camp trailer, so we played outside instead. He is pretty good at riding his "rocket" down the sidewalk.

Logen enjoyed the sunshine and brought his speed stacking cups outside, and when the speed stacking cups go outside so does the noise. It is actually kind of noisy when he stacks the cups with "lightening speed"!

Logen did an excellent job on his PACE project that I talked about a couple weeks ago. When we went to parent/teacher conferences last week, his English teacher said he was a natural and one of the best students that gave the oral presentation in front of the judges. Isn't that awesome?? I think I already wrote that his report was about his career choice; a sports caster. Sports is a subject that Logen can discuss very comfortably!
Logen decided that he did not want to go to the Charter High School that Tyler went to. I was a little disappointed but we support his decision. After he went to the open house he decided that it would not be a good fit for him. We applied to another charter school here in Meridian, we should know if he was chosen from the lottery by the end of the month. I will let everyone know when we hear something back from them.
There's a cute commercial where a boy is doing speed stacking--he is really fast. Had no idea that stacking is the new trend. Remember rubic cube? So, a sports caster. Good choice for someone who likes sports. Glad that he did well on his presentation. Need to be able to get up in front of people and present to be a sports caster. Good for you Logen! Glad you are supporting him on his choice of schools. It is not always a good thing to follow in the heels of a sibling. All through high school I heard, "are you Connie's sister?"
ReplyDeleteWe know what commercial that is..its with the world champion stacker Steven Purugganan, who is actually an on-line friend of Logen's in the Sport Stacking "community". Not too many kids around here sport stack unfortunately! Yes I remember the rubiks cube well. And they have made a comeback--we have a couple of those floating around the house too. Logen does quite well even though he hasn't solved it completely yet.
ReplyDeleteWe are still trying to get an in-district transfer to another high school in our town. If that fails he was picked from the lottery for another charter school here in Meridian also, so we do have a couple plans in the the works.
It made me laugh to hear you say: "are you Connie's sister?"
