Colin's birthday in September was a beautiful day....we could not have asked for better weather. We love it when we can be outside and have parties on the back patio.
We let Colin choose how he wanted to decorate his birthday cake and he chose: TOY STORY! Surprise, surprise....this is his favorite thing.....pretty much everything revolves around these characters right now; toys, blankets, clothes, etc...
After we sliced Colin a piece of cake he decided that he needed ALL the characters from the cake on his little slice of cake...so we piled them on...and it made him real happy, as you can tell by the smile on his face.
A funny story about the party hat Colin is wearing. I took him to the party store for our supplies. This store specializes in EVERYTHING party. When it comes to getting a party hat--this is the place to go to! They have a wall with every imaginable hat to celebrate the occasion. I told Colin he could pick ANY hat he wanted. They had a cute one that looked like a birthday cake, a cowboy birthday hat, flashing lights on birthday hats; you get the picture. Well, he picked this hat that he is wearing. Total cost: $1.56. I tried to get him to pick some thing cute and original but this is the hat he wanted, wanted, WANTED!!! There was no changing his mind and there was no way I was getting it off his head either, even though his birthday was 3 weeks away. So I bought two of these hats, one I put away to stay nice for the birthday day. He wore the birthday hat the day I bought it everywhere, we went shopping ran errands, everything while he wore this hat....it was soooooo cute!
This is how he proceeded to eat his cake... I am not real sure why he dove into the cake this way. As you can see by the picture, I DID supply him with a fork. But it was his birthday and as long as he was enjoying himself (and he doesn't eat like that all the time) it really did not matter. :)
Another one of Colin's favorite toys is the Mr. Potato head (and yes he is a character in the Toy Story movie also). Ryan bought him this huge head full of pieces and parts...he has had a blast with all the options to make MORE Mr. Potato head, Mrs. Potato head and even baby Potato head!
This is a picture of Hailey and Tate giving Colin the gifts they got him. They bought him some great puzzles which Colin loves to do.
It was great party, not an overwhelming amount of people, but a really good time. I can hardly believe that Colin is three years old....they time is just flying by......
