Fiesta Bowl Game

Our Boise State Broncos Football team have had another winning season. They won all of the seasons games (13-0) and the WAC (Western Athletic Conference) Championship.

If anyone is keeping score you will remember that I wrote about the rivalry against the U of I (University of Idaho) Vandals and our Broncos, on the football field and in our family. (you can re-read the post by clicking here) On November 14th the rival team came to town. Apparently there are other people who feel even stronger about the rivalry. The U of I received quite a lot of media coverage when early in the week of the game, their athletic director refused to get on a plane adorned with the Bronco colors and logo (see below): We, as Boise State fans, thought it was pretty silly that the athletic director would rent a car from that airport and drive A LOT of miles out of his way to go to a different airport just to make sure he did not fly on a blue and orange plane. :) On game day, our winning final score was 63-25....need I say more?

Last Sunday it was announced that Boise State earned the right to play in the Fiesta Bowl on January 4, 2010 against TCU (Texas Christian University) in Glendale, AZ.

The Boise State Broncos played in the Fiesta Bowl once before, in January 2007 against the Oklahoma Sooners. Many fans consider that bowl game to be one of the most exciting games in college football history.

As you all know from previous posts that I have written, our family "bleeds blue and orange" for our Boise State Broncos. We would absolutely love to attend this game, as most Bronco fans would. Phoenix is a short 15 hour, 950 mile trip from our home. But whether we watch them live or from the comfort of our family room; I can guarantee you one thing: We will support our team and be cheering them on every second of the game!

Go Broncos!!
