Logen is 14 !!!!

I can hardly believe that Logen is 14 years old today and he will be in high school in the fall. Where is the time going???

In past years Logen has had fairly large birthday parties. His birthday is in the summer so it is the perfect excuse to have a big backyard party. We have rented inflatable water slides and had family BBQ's in the past. Last year we rented out Boise State University's football practice field for some fun; including a kids vs parents game! This year when we asked Logen what he would like to do, he decided that he really wanted an IPOD (the expensive one) and said he would rather us put any money that would have went to a party toward the IPOD. So low and behold....it was a quiet birthday.

Logen got to decide where we went to dinner for his birthday. He chose Westside Drive-In. Westside Drive-In is in Boise. We hadn't been there in years but Logen saw that Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives was filmed there while they were in Boise this spring. He thought it looked good and decided that's where he wanted to go.

So off we were to eat a casual dinner, outside on the patio of a downtown Boise drive-in. Logen decided that he wanted the burger that Guy Fieri (the host of Diners Drive-ins and Dives) made while at the restaurant this spring. It is called the "Daddy-O". (My vegetarian relatives may want to skip the next few pictures-HAHA)

This hamburger has two hamburg patties, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, bacon, pickles and lots of condiments. I have to admit I was a little shocked that he wanted to tackle eating this beast of a sandwich.

For dessert we all shared this.......

You may say "A baked potato for DESSERT?!?!" This is not a baked potato. It is an ice cream made to look like a famous Idaho baked potato! Ice cream shaped liked a potato, rolled in cocoa (to look like potato skin), split open, added whipped cream to look like sour cream and nuts on the top (chives). It is served on a plate of chocolate syrup. YUMMY!

Even though we did not have a great big birthday party, Logen said he had a great time and a great birthday.

I love you, Logen.....I am very proud of who you are and what a great heart you have....I am so blessed to be your Mom!
